William "Bill" Curtis Chamberlin

Bill was born on October 5th, 1938 in Mason City, Iowa. His parents, William Pearl Chamberlin and Joyce Melson, moved to Davenport, Iowa shortly thereafter. Bill graduated from Davenport Central. His career consisted of mainly retail sales and collection work. In 1973 he married Phyllis Louise Stevens. Their union lasted 49 ½ years.

Bill was a chess player, bicyclist, and was an avid reader of history. He also enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em, and for a time, was a poker dealer at the President Riverboat.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Don and Wayne Chamberlin, and sister Betty Kunz. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Duane and Sara Messerich, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat Lola.

Per his wishes, no public memorial services will be held. Iowa Cremation is handling the details of his passing. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Aid Humane Society, 239 50th St #1953, Moline, IL 61265 or to another charity of your choice.
