Kathleen "Kathy” Evelyn Walton (Brogan), age 67, of Cedar Rapids, IA left this earth on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022. Kathy will not have a service, per her wishes.
Kathy was born on June 5th, 1955, in Keokuk, IA to Mary Evelyn Brogan and John Wesley Brogan. She was the youngest of 10 siblings. Kathy primarily grew up in Missouri. She lived in Las Vegas, NV, California, Missouri, and Iowa throughout her lifetime.
Kathy married Shawn Walton in Las Vegas, NV in 1991, he later passed in 1997.
She worked in the casinos in Las Vegas, Edina Nursing Home, Cross Point in Edina, MO, and several other places that involved helping others.
Kathy’s family and grandchildren meant the world to her. She didn't know a stranger and would talk to anyone. She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, playing cards and going to the casino.
She is survived by her children, Nick (Sallie) Valdez of Cedar Rapids, IA; Christina Valdez of Cedar Rapids, IA; and Bobbi Santos of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Bobby, Kaden, Gabby, Tiffany, John, Jason, Billy, and Abel; her siblings, Louise Anders of San Angelo, TX; Ernesta Brogan of San Angelo, TX; and Michael Brogan of Boulder, MT; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She is preceded in death with by her parents; spouse, Shawn Walton; and her siblings, Eva, Patricia, Ina, Walter, John, and William.
