Gailane Mary Kublie

March 27, 2024, at the age of 84, Gailane Mary Kublie, born Kapla, serenely took her leave from this life.

She is survived by her devoted son, Thomas (Kimberly), and beloved daughter, Jill (Brian). Her memory continues to be cherished by her grandchildren, Joshua and Alyssa, and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Amelia, and Owen. Her brother Thomas (Karen) Kapla, sisters-in-law, MaryLou Stuckey and Nancy Arnett, and a host of dearly-loved friends will also remember her fondly. Gailane was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and her brother James Kapla.

Gailane's life started in Hibbing, Minnesota and took a significant turn in 1958 when she moved to Minneapolis and met Kenneth Kublie. Their shared life journey led them to various places before they finally settled in Dubuque, Iowa. It was here that they raised their family, celebrated many significant milestones, including 62 years of marriage, and spent their twilight years together.

Choosing to dedicate herself to her family, Gailane became a tireless homemaker, providing her family with nothing less than her full attention and care as they grew. She took pleasure in sewing, crocheting, reading, quilting, various volunteer activities, and engaging in friendly games of bridge with her dear friends.

Among Gailane's most treasured locations was the family cabin by the lake on Little Sturgeon, Minnesota. A faithful member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, her love for the Lord was profound. Her life's journey will be honored and celebrated in Dubuque at Flora Park June 15, 2024, marking the legacy of a life beautifully lived and a woman deeply cherished.
