Kathleen Irene Tuttle

Kathleen (Kathy) Irene Tuttle, 77 of Washburn Iowa, passed away at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home from complications due to COPD on Sunday, July 31st.

She born on 12/24/1944 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Earl and Irene (Halverson) Conaway. She graduated from Marshalltown High School. She married Jerry Lee Tuttle in December of 1964 and divorced in September of 1986.

She tended bar at the Embassy Lounge and Volks Haus for many years, also sang in nursing homes, for weddings, funerals, and weekend entertainment at several local bars in the Cedar Valley area, she loved to entertain by playing the guitar and singing, whether it was around a campfire or to a crowd she enjoyed watching TV, playing games, visiting with family, and especially looked forward to her snapchat calls with her great grandson.

She is survived by 3 children; Melissa Conaway of Palm Bay, Florida, Melanie (Rick) Schmidt of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Matthew (Sachie) Tuttle of Yokosuka, Japan; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Ostby, Jacob Ostby, Emily Ostby, Clayton Schmidt, Brittany (Sage) Muehling, Alyssa Schmidt, Masato Tuttle, Kentaro Tuttle; 9 great-grandkids, Camren, Kaeden, Kinslee, Wiley, Nolan, Asher, Owen, Hendrix, Stella; her fur baby Sophie (whom she spoiled way more than any human she knew); her best friend Sally Benson and the most wonderful neighbors a person can have Jay and Tiffany Weidemann. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Irene Conaway, her siblings Kerry (Bud) Conaway, Karlene Piper, Jim Conaway, Karole Conaway.

The family and close friends will have a small private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Cedar Valley Hospice in her honor.
