Eugene (Gene) Allen Carpenter
I didn't know Mr. Carpenter personally, but I know his son, Greg, and have heard much about him. I'm sorry to hear of his passing and send my deepest heartfelt condolences to the family.
I have known Gene and his sister Kathy all of my school days. Gene got my name two years in a row for the Christmas exchange in lower elementary classes. I know it was a major expense for him to get something for this exchange. The Schultz Brothers store was on South Franklin Street and way in the back were these small dark blue bottles of Evening In Paris perfume. I got one, two years in a row, and it is one of the loveliest memories of my childhood. I will miss his presence on this earth. Rest in Peace Gene.
The West Delaware Class of 1969 sends it's sincere condolences to all of the Carpenter family on the passing of Gene. He was such a kind and loving man.
What a wonderful man! I believe all that knew him felt that way. I cut his hair for several years and always loved when him and his wife would come in. I know what a hard working man he was and I believe he's continually working as he is in heaven because I don't think he would be happy sitting and doing nothing. I believe he is now a wonderful angel looking down on his family and watching over them. I will miss this man as I know so many others will but it's nice knowing we will meet again as this earth isn't our permanent home. My condolences to his family trying to figure out life without this sweet man. I pray the memories keep you going and you always remember the good times.
