Peter Hans Levsen, 73, of Anamosa, Iowa, died on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones. To honor his wishes, he will be cremated and buried in Olin Cemetery in Iowa with a small private service.
Survivors include his sons, Brad, Brian (Elizabeth), and Brett (Crystal) Levsen;
6 grandchildren, Abigail (Paul) Money, Hannah Jacobs, Holly Levsen, Haley (Logan) Dowell, Liam and Luke Levsen; 3 great grandchildren, Luka Montes, Timothy Money, and Baby Dowell; his siblings, Paul Levsen and Donna (Stan) Coleman-Bedker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Evelyn (Hillmer) Levsen, sister Sandra (Levsen) Nelson and great grandchild, Baby “J” Dowell.
Peter Hans Levsen was born on July 2, 1949, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Paul and Evelyn (Hillmer) Levsen. Peter was a caring man who enjoyed the simple things. He grew up on his family farm in Olin and graduated from Olin High School. He was a skilled tradesman in welding and construction. He was dedicated to helping men overcome addiction. He loved wood crafting, spending time with his grandchildren and laughing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
