Ron Bailey
Ron Bailey, of Ryan, Iowa (formerly of Monticello, Iowa), passed away on May 30th 2023, at the age of 80, of heart failure. Ron was born the son of Homer and Lillian (Young) Bailey in Sac City, Iowa on May 11, 1943. Ron married Judy Reiners, of Waterloo, Iowa on April 4th, 1964. Ron owned his own Harvestore business for many years before he went to work at Exide in Manchester, Iowa, until he retired in 2010.
Ron’s joys were camping, going for long car rides, telling jokes and stories, but most of all Ron loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ron’s heart broke when his son Steven died in 2005 and in 2011 when his beloved wife Judy passed from cancer.
Ron was survived by his son Matt (Paula) Bailey; daughter, Tracy (Mike) Hoisington; daughter, Peggy (Brad) Green; daughter-in-law, Candy (Josh) Zittergeruen; daughter, Tammy (Herman) Gipe; 19 grandkids; and 21 great grandkids He was preceded in death by his wife, son, parents, in-laws, siblings, brother-in-law, and nieces and nephews. Ron will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who know him.
As per Ron’s wishes no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be directed to any EMS or fire department.
