Billy G. Landstrum

Billy G. Landstrum, 80, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  A celebration of life gathering will be held later this Spring at a place to be determined.

Billy was born on May 23, 1943 to Billy C. and Eileen (Butler) Landstrum in Barnes City, Iowa.  He was united in marriage to Sara Lou Sheehy on October 12, 1963 in Union Mills, Iowa. Billy was an avid golfer and loved to travel the country playing golf with his wife of 60 years, Sara.  Billy worked as a claims adjuster for Farm Bureau Insurance for over 30 years.  He played golf at Terrace Hills Golf Course in Altoona for over 25 years, then at Echo Valley Country Club in Des Moines.  After retirement Billy & Sara moved to Hot Springs Village, AR, then later to Bella Vista, AR before moving to Burlington, IA to be closer to family.  Billy was quick-witted and made lifelong friends wherever he landed.  His humor and friendship will be missed by many.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sara; children, Robert (Julie) Landstrum of Norwalk, IA; Cheri (Kirk) Hosteng of Galesburg, IL; grandchildren Katie (Nate) Cruchelow, Tommy Hosteng, Paige Landstrum (Forrest Cosper), & Tyler Landstrum, 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers Mike (Cindy) Landstrum of Indianola, IA, and Bob Landstrum of Barnes City, IA and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
