Loretta M. Meyer

Loretta M. Meyer, 82, of Anamosa, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Memorial Visitation Tuesday, July 30, 2024, 9:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a 11:30 am Memorial Service at First Congregational Church in Anamosa. 

She was born on December 22, 1941, in Iowa City, to George and June (Scripture) Edwards. Loretta graduated in 1959 from Wyoming High School in Wyoming, IA. She  was a long-time and a very supportive member of First Congregational Church in Anamosa.  Loretta married Larry Hamilton; to this union was two children, Mark and Cory. They later divorced, she was united in marriage to Orville Meyer on December 21, 1991, in Anamosa.

Loretta worked and retired in 2005, after 31 years, from Lewis Systems, later known as Orbis in Monticello. She enjoyed volunteering at the Anamosa Hospital.  Loretta enjoyed playing cards, reading and being with family and friends.

Survived by children, Mark Hamilton of Cedar Rapids and Cory (Jackie) Hamilton of Troy Mills; Step-children, Connie (Kevin) Hupp of Ely, Carolyn Walker of Anamosa, James (Sally) Meyer of Anamosa; grandchildren, Madison Hamilton, Jessica Hupp, Joshua (Samantha) Hupp, Jennifer Hupp, Brooke (Tyler) Bohlken, Joel (RaeEllen) Walker, Emily and Wesley Meyer; and six great-grandchildren;  and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Meyer; her parents; and sister, Margaret Storm.

Memorial donations may be given to First Congregational Church in Anamosa or the Anamosa Hospital.
