Richard "Dick" Dahley

Richard (Dick) Dahley was born on June 20, 1947, in Mason City, Iowa to Erling and Janette (Forslund) Dahley. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Dick served four years in the Navy. Following his service, he worked for several years as a lineman in Oregon. He then established and operated Midwest Cable and enjoyed traveling the United States building cable systems.

After selling his business, he returned to Osage and married Jeanne, his high-school sweetheart, in 2000. He was then hired by Osage Municipal Utilities to help build their cable system. Dick’s marriage to Jeanne brought into his life a family who adored him. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Dick was always there for those he loved, willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed camping at the quarry with family and friends, working on his acreage, playing cards, and attending his grandchildren’s events.

Dick passed away on March 10, 2024. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jeanne; daughters, Lorie (Craig) Tesch, Jolene (Dave) Dixon, Amy Carter, and Jaren (Steve) Wieland; grandchildren Sam, Taryn, Trey, Jonathan, Briley, Ethan, Joshua, and Aleyah; several great-grandchildren; brother Elon (Judy) Dahley; and sister Corinne (Ron) Gambach. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne; sister, Marlene; and beloved dog, Samantha.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Osage, Iowa.
