Dale Lee Furlin
Dale Lee Furlin, the son of John and Agnes Furlin, was born on March 10, 1956 in Corydon, Iowa. Dale grew up and lived most of his life in Seymour, Iowa. Dale passed away at home on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the age of 68 years.
From a young age, Dale learned the craft of autobody repair and eventually owned his own successful business. Over the course of his life, he rebuilt many cars and helped a lot of people back on the road. He also enjoyed working during planting and harvesting seasons. Dale took on several hobbies during his life and you could find him fishing, camping, hunting, woodworking, and at one time flying RC model airplanes and recently even helped a good friend rebuild a 1948 Piper Vagabond.
On December 23, 1983, Dale was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Furlin. They raised two daughters and had various pets, including his beloved dog, Millie. Dale loved to fish, hunt and loved even more eating the results of those. Some of the most joyful times was when his grandsons Sloan, Mason, Coleson, and Sawyer came along. He loved spending time with them and freely offering his advice to them. Dale was known for speaking his mind and living life on his own terms. He gladly would take time to advise anyone and everyone in life lessons.
He is survived by his wife Mary; daughters Tynne Sulser (David) and Jillian Mott (Don); grandsons Sloan Sulser (Demi), Mason Sulser (Madison), Coleson Mott and Sawyer Mott; brother Dennis Furlin; niece Brandita Taylor (Jeremy) and nephew Chris Furlin (Shonda), great-nephew Hunter Taylor, great-nieces Zoe Taylor and Olivia Furlin (Zach) and their son Lincoln, and half-brother Robert Zeigler.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Agnes Furlin, infant sister Jonnie, sister-in-law Cindy Furlin, niece Candita Furlin and half-sister Bernice Gill.
A Celebration of Life will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, May 17th at the Seymour Community Center. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Furever Friends Rescue of Appanoose, Inc. or EveryStep Hospice.
