Della Kay Masker

Della Kay (Foster) Masker of Panora died Tuesday, May 14 at Unity Point Methodist hospital after a brief illness.

She was born July 5, 1948 in Austin, Minnesota, daughter of Dellon and Phyllis (Flynn) Foster. She married Tim Masker on November 4, 1967 in Shell Rock.

Della was a homemaker for most of her life. She and Tim made their home of 40 years in Readlyn where they welcomed seven children. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Della was very proud of her large family. She always had homemade treats on hand for the grandchildren’s visits.

Della and Tim moved to Panora in 2017 to be near the youngest grandchildren and take advantage of the warmer seasons in Southern Iowa.

Survivors include: her husband, Tim; four daughters, Barb (Dan) Dettmering of Waterloo, Bev Masker of Yale, Kim Masker of Ankeny, Jesi (Matt) Fuller of Whitewood, SD; three sons, Tim (Kate) Masker of Lanett, AL, James (Shelly) Masker of Tripoli, Kris (Ariel) Masker of Van Meter; 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Della is also survived by her brothers, Darwin Foster of Waterloo and Bill (Debi) Foster of Minnesota, and a sister, Nancy Foster of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Della is preceded in death by: her parents, parents-in-law, two sisters-in-law, Pat Koelling and Jane Webb, a brother-in-law, Mike Masker, a niece, Michelle Renee Foster and one great grandchild, Maya Rose Dettmering.
