Evelyn Ruth Christophersen

Evelyn Ruth Christophersen, 77, passed away on November 11th, 2024. Her funeral service will be held on December 7th, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine, IA at 11:00 am with lunch to follow. 

Evelyn was born in Lake City, Iowa on August 8, 1947, to Clarence and Lulu (Snyder) Christophersen.  She joined two brothers: Charles (Carol) and Robert (Marlene) Christophersen.  

Evelyn attended Muscatine schools, Marshalltown and Muscatine Community Colleges and Mary Crest College in Davenport, Iowa.  She worked as a social worker in substance abuse counseling and mental health fields at Unity Point Hospital retiring after 30 years.

Evelyn had two marriages.  She was first united in marriage to James Bacon. They welcomed three children: Douglas, Christine and Jeffrey.  Her second marriage was to Jerry Fiser, and they welcomed the birth of daughter Shannon.

Evelyn enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and cooking.  Above all, Evelyn loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members and close friends.

Evelyn is survived by her son Douglas Bacon and daughter Shannon (Jeff) Belknap; grandchildren RJ (Beth) Truitt, Ryan Bacon, Jr Bacon, Austin Bacon, Cody (Erin) Belknap, Kayla (Logan) Ralston; and great grandchildren Cameron Belknap, Cecilia Belknap, Simon Belknap, Hadleigh Ralston, Oaklynn Ralston, Raelynn Bacon, Alyviah Bacon, Layla Bacon, Tucker Truitt; her brother Robert (Marlene) Christophersen; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, her children; Christine and Jeffrey Bacon, and her brother Charles Christophersen.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Evelyn’s family. Please direct all donations to Shannon Belknap at 606 E 1st St, Wilton, IA 52778.
