Kevin Daniel Kruse

Kevin Daniel Kruse, 67, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away on November 29th, 2024, at the University of Madison Hospital, Madison, WI.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 1 to 5 p.m. at St. Clements Parish Hall, Bankston, Iowa, with Deacon Dan O’Connell officiating a small service at 2 p.m.

Kevin was born to Daniel and Rose Mary (Elgin) Kruse on May 29, 1957. He graduated from Beckman High School in 1975. He pursued a business degree, was a self-employed contractor and home inspector, and spent the last 20 years driving trucks; most recently with Viessman’s Trucking. More than anything else, he loved his family and the life that he had built. His other passion was riding his motorcycle and the freedom of the ride. His motto in life was "Ride or Die" which means to live each and every day like it’s your last. With a double lung transplant and then a cancer diagnosis, he was determined to beat the odds and fought with everything he had right up until the end.

He is survived by his significant other, Donna Kramer of Dyersville; three daughters, Dawn (Greg) Olson of Dubuque, Kendra (Christian) Miller of West Union, and Kayla (Nathan) Young of Indianola; his mother Rose Mary Kruse of Bankston; grandchildren Kylee (Jordan) Langel of Dyersville, Kirsten Schroeder (Devin Ament) of New Vienna, Dylan Schroeder of Dubuque, Felicity and Silas Miller of West Union, and Kevin, Liam, Elysium, and Carter Young of Indianola; great grandchildren Audrey Ament of New Vienna, and Boone and Kroy Langel of Dyersville; brothers and sisters, Karl Kruse of Bankston, Kelly Kruse (Lisa Hefley) of Nashville, TN, Karen (Ken) Lehman of Lakeville MN, Pam (Mike) Goedken of Dyersville, and Phil (Shelley) Kruse of Farley.

Kevin was preceded in death by four infant children: Desiree, Kevin, Deon, and Tory, his father Daniel Kruse, his brother Kerry Kruse, and his grandchild Isabella Miller.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made to the University of Madison lung transplant unit in Kevin’s name. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to this facility for everything they did for Kevin and their family.
