Ruth Mae (Herman) Zearley, Age 86 of Ely, IA, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11 AM at the Prairie Bible Church with Pastor Max Webb officiating.
Ruth was born on October 19, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Emma (Dostal) Herman. Ruth enjoyed gardening, flowers, and crossword puzzles. Ruth was an avid animal lover. She was known for singing Happy Birthday over the phone to all her family members.
Those left to cherish Ruth’s memory are her children, Dennis Freeman, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Kelly (Gary) Porter, of Ely, IA; her grandchildren, Brad, Greg (Lindsay), and Ed Tlusty; her great-grandchildren, Ashton, Avery, Ainsley, Truett, and Kayla; her brother, Steve (Cindy Martin) Herman, of Cedar Rapids, IA; her beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Don Herman, Dorothy Roman, Irene Herman, and Gary Herman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, and or Unity Point Hospice.
The family would like to remind you that “Jesus Loves You” and to thank the entire staff at UnityPoint Hospice for all the love and support they showed Ruth while she was in their care.
