Shirley Ann Philipp, 76, passed away on November 16, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. No services are planned per Shirley’s wishes.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tim, her daughter, Tonia (Chad) Bildstein, of Ely; granddaughters, Sydney (Anson) and Katlyn; daughter, Kristina (Mike) Burhite, of Ely; granddaughters, Cheyenne and Aee Mulford; grandson, Zach (Mikayla) Burhite; great grandson, Noah; great granddaughter, Kaelynn, sister, Linda Neyens, of Cedar Rapids, brother, Phil Neyens. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald.
Shirley was born July 10,1948, to Alfred and Aileen Neyens in Espanola, New Mexico. She graduated from LaSalle High School in Cedar Rapids. She worked in the histology lab for St Luke’s Hospital for 52 years before retiring in 2019. Shirley married Timothy Philippon July 7, 1973 in Cedar Rapids at St Patrick’s Church. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, reading and especially dancing. There was nothing more important than her beloved family. She was truly one of a kind. A true angel on earth whose beautiful soul will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
