"I had Madame Childers for French at South Tama my sophomore through senior years of high school, graduating in 1981. I am so grateful for the background she gave me in reading a Romance language. It has enriched my life, being able to read French phrases in books and under paintings in art museums. As I studied to be a science teacher at Iowa State, knowing French made understanding the Latin nomenclature so much easier. "
