Shirley Marie VanHorn
Shirley Marie VanHorn, 76 of Madrid, Iowa died on December 19, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters Edith (Danny) Wickenkamp, DeDe (Rob) Albert and son Adam Lee Friedel, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. Her sister Pasty Gail (Robert) Niblo and brother Jesse VanHorn, and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was proceeded in death by her father Jesse VanHorn, her mother Alice Marie Evans and her Sister.
Shirley was born in Des Moines and she later made Madrid her home to raise her family. She worked in differant jobs from a school bus driver for Madrid School distric, a CNA for the Madrid Home, as an Resident Treatment Worker for Woodward State Hospital School, now know as Woodward Resource Center, then on to the DOT, the a few other jobs until retirement.
She enjoyed her family and caring for her grandchildren.
