Rosemary Kampman

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rosemary Kampman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the age of 92. Rosemary was born on May 22, 1932, in Iowa City to Frank and Inez (Hittle) Cottrell.

She was first united in marriage to Jack Lyons in 1951, a union that was tragically cut short by his passing in 1954. In 1958, she was united in marriage to Lester Kampman on August 30th. They enjoyed 67 years together.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Lester, and their children: Steve (Janis) Kampman and Jacki (Jerry) Michael. She was an amazing Gammy to her grandchildren Josh (Robin) Watson, Jenna Watson (Andrew Burden), Ryan (Kristin) Lensing, Jennifer Kampman (Rachel Wilson), and Abby (Adam) Michael-Campbell, and a proud great-grandmother to Leo, Ray, and Jack Lensing. Rosemary is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Chris and Jeremy Michael.

She was preceded in death by her a sister, Virginia Squier and a cousin, Dortha Halva, as well as several in-laws: Floyd Squier, Jerry Koobs, Darlene Koobs, and Donna Janssen.

Rosemary enjoyed spending her time baking and cooking, especially making the best pancakes and chocolate chip cookies, which she loved to share with those she cared about. She also captured many memories, and kept multiple family photo albums that helped tell the story of her life and those closest to her.

A private family service will be held to honor Rosemary's life at a later date.
