Brenda Lynn Hildebrand
Brenda Lynn Hildebrand, 61, of Fayette, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025, at home, surrounded by family.
Brenda, daughter of Paul and Darlene (Lauer) Briggs, was born Tuesday June 11, 1963 in West Union, Iowa. Brenda attended Fayette Community School in Fayette, Iowa, graduating in 1981. Following graduation, Brenda was united in marriage to Gerald (Jerry) Hildebrand at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, Iowa on July 25, 1981. To this union, 3 children were born: Emily, Adam, and Jared. Brenda worked in food service, on campus of Upper Iowa University for many years and retired in 2020. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially those who called her Nana, her grandchildren. Brenda enjoyed attending, and cheering on, her grandchildren at their 4H events, sporting events and music events. Brenda was a crafter of all sorts. You could count on her always working on a craft and sharing those crafts with her family and friends. Brenda proudly displayed her projects in and outside of her home. Brenda also had a love of animals. At the time of her passing, she had a dog, ducks, chickens, and goats(mambo being her favorite). In the summer, Brenda could be found outside tending to her plants and flower beds. Brenda was an avid homesteader on her little farm that she proudly coined the "Funny Farm" and though we don't know all the things that happened on the Funny Farm, we know memories were made with Jerry, her children, and grandchildren. Brenda was "the best Nana ever" to those lucky enough to call her that.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Jerry of Fayette, Iowa; daughter Emily Hildebrand of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Son, Adam (Betty) Hildebrand of Fayette, Iowa; and Son, Jared (Diana) Hildebrand of Randalia, Iowa; 14 grandchildren: Kyran, Alyssa, Jaxon, Alyeah, Taylor, Paige, Raelin, Gerald(Gunner), Lia, Ellie, Raylan, Hesnley, Harvey, and Walker; 2 brothers, Rick Briggs of Fayette, Iowa; Dennis Briggs of Waterloo, Iowa; and sister Sandy Briggs Verdon of Davenport, Iowa.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents and in-laws.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 8, 2025 at 11:30am at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, Iowa, with a luncheon to follow. A private burial will be held at a later date.
