Laura "Lisa" Maxwell

Laura (Lisa) Elizabeth Maxwell, 63, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2025.

Laura Elizabeth Maxwell was born on September 5, 1961, to Richard Dean and Norma Jean Maxwell (Rynor) in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was the youngest of three daughters. After graduating from Washington High School in 1979, she attended Kirkwood Community College to study Dental Assisting & Health Sciences. She was the assistant manager and chairside assistant at Dr. Rick Travnicek’s dental office. Lisa also worked for many years at the Iowa Department of Transportation. Most recently, she was a crew member at Wendy’s. She enjoyed working with the public and excelled at customer service.

Lisa was close to God, family, friends, and her beloved cats. In her youth, she spent summers with her grandparents Holly and Nola Rynor in Corydon, IA. As a teenager and adult, she had many close girlfriends. Lisa helped lovingly care for her parents in their senior years. She always had a minute for everyone and enjoyed visiting with people. Her beautiful cross-stitch projects were works of art and cherished gifts. Those who knew Lisa remember her as a sweet and amazing person and a blessing in their lives.

Survivors include her son Daniel Hack of Waterloo, IA; sister Cathleen Ingersoll (Mark Ordway) of Falmouth, MA; nephew Nicholas Ingersoll (Kim Hilton) of Nashua, NH; nephew Ryan Corona (Angelica Fonseca), Sara Vazquez (Jose Vazquez), and Kaitlyn Corona, all of Sacramento, CA. She is additionally survived by her great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Lisa was predeceased by her parents Richard Dean and Norma Jean (Rynor) Maxwell of Cedar Rapids, and her sister Claudia Corona (Maxwell) of Sacramento.

A graveside service and remembrance gathering will be held at a future date.
