Bruce E. Crew, 93, of Fairfield passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, surrounded by loving family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Bruce was born on July 8, 1931, to Keith Crew and Frances Olsen in Fairfield, Iowa. Bruce honorably served his country as a proud member of the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Buck. After his service, he was united in marriage to Judith "Judy" Childs on October 7,1955 in Newton, Iowa. Together they had three children, Mike, Becky and Pam. Over the years Bruce was employed at Winfrey Electric, Swift Meat Packing and Equitable.
Bruce was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather, as well as a member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with his family and tinkering in his yard and garage. If something wasn't working properly, he was the man for the job. He was loved and admired for his witty sense of humor, compassion and willingness to always lend a hand or an ear.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Mike (Marla) Crew of Fairfield, IA and Pam (Jay) Schulze of Fort Mill, SC. seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy, daughter Becky Manning, granddaughter Kelly Manning and brothers Leland Crew and James "Clair" Crew.
