Linda Updike, 65, passed away on March 10, 2025, following an illness, in Marion, Iowa.
Born on March 18, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Linda spent her life in the community she called home. Linda held a strong relationship with Jesus and loved scripture. She was known for her gift of gab, storytelling, holding onto cherished memories and sharing them with those around her. A loving nurturer at heart, Linda touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.
She is survived by her children; Melody Updike, Tamera Johnston, Candra Updike, and Matthew Noehl; her grandchildren; April Doty, Zachery Spencer, Megan Kline, Kimberly Johnston, Cameron Updike, Adalynn Rupe, Nevaeh Noehl and Myah Noehl; and her great-grandchildren; Penelope Doty, Elliot Doty, Violet Spencer, and Paisley Cavins.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene Sterns; father, Alvin LaGrange; grandson, Reginald David Etgeton, baby sisters, Renee and Regina LaGrange, baby brother, Jeffrey LaGrange; aunt, Rosie Walker; and uncle, Bill Romig; and many other friends and family she lost throughout the years.
Her memory will live on through the stories she shared and the love she gave so freely. May those who knew her find comfort in remembering the joy she brought into their lives.
