Gale Lou Luse, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 23, 2025, at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital.
Survivors include her daughter, Barb Luse of Cedar Rapids; a son, Greg (Monica) Luse of Des Moines; also surviving are 7 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jeff in 2013, twin brother Dennis in 2020, and her husband David in 2017.
Gale Lou Luse was born July 11, 1936, in Clarence, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Viola (Clemmens) Hansen. On June 22, 1957, she married David Luse at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital for 18 years. Then she was employed for the Crestview and Northbrook Nursing Homes. Gale enjoyed trips to Kalona, needle point, reading, and bonfires with the neighbors. She especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and her neighbors dog, Rascal.
