Kenneth "Ken" Harold Juhl

Kenneth "Ken" Harold Juhl, born on July 6, 1956, in Le Mars, Iowa, passed away May 26, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ken was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, known for his unwavering spirit and dedication to his family, friends and coworkers.

Ken was the son of Leonard Ralph Juhl and Dorothy Marie Miller, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his brothers, Bill (Shirley)Juhl of Columbus Junction, Bob Juhl of Iowa City, and John (Janelle) of Marion, along with many cherished nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Growing up in Iowa, Ken developed a strong foundation of values that shaped the man he became. He completed his high school education and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy, a time that instilled in him a sense of duty and commitment that he carried throughout his life.

For over thirty years, Ken dedicated his professional life to Tyson Foods, where he worked diligently to maintain the plant by fabricating parts and conducting maintenance and repairs on the machines. He took immense pride in his work, often going above and beyond to ensure that operations ran smoothly. His craftsmanship and problem-solving skills where many will remember him fondly for his ability to fix anything that came his way.

Ken was an avid outdoorsman, with a particular passion for duck hunting. He found joy in the beauty of nature and spent countless hours fishing and exploring the great outdoors. His love for hunting was not just a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with the elements and share unforgettable moments with family and friends. Ken’s zest for life was infectious, and he formed deep, lasting friendships that enriched his life.

Ken's life was marked by the love of his family and the deep friendships he cultivated along the way. He was known for his kind heart and willingness to help others, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. His generous spirit continued even in death, as he chose to be an organ donor, giving the gift of sight through the donation of his corneas to those in need.

As we reflect on the legacy Ken leaves behind, we are reminded of his love for the outdoors, his dedication to his work, and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the lives he touched.

A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to an organization that supports cancer research or outdoor conservation efforts, causes that were close to Ken's heart.

Rest in peace, dear Ken. You are deeply missed and will always be loved.
