Geraldine Mrkvicka
Geraldine Mrkvicka, 90, of Cedar Rapids IA, passed away on September 6, 2025. She was born on Mar 23, 1935, to the late Rudoph and Julianna Kolar in Linn Co IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Eugene Mrkvicka, her brother Leonard Kolar and her sister Doris Penn (Ron).
Surviving Gerry are her two children Steven Ray Mrkvicka (Toni) of Cedar Rapids IA and Sheryl Renee Duffy (Dan) of Beaufort SC; five grandchildren, Johanna Haire (Jason) Fuita CO, Jessica Barnett (Ryan) of Marion IA, Jennifer Mrkvicka of Marion IA, Bryan Duffy (Tori) of Lynchburg VA and Erin Duffy of Summerville SC; five great-grandchildren Taylor Voboril (Tom), Kacee Ebinger (Ken), Maddy Haire, Noah Haire and Eleanor Duffy; and one great-great grandchild on the way. Also surviving Gerry are her three remaining sisters Agnes Wilson of Cedar Rapids IA, Lillian Stych of San Diego CA, and Lucille Welsh of Vista CA.
Gerry lived in Center Point for many years before moving to Cedar Rapids. Gerry was most proud of her 40-year career at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids and she enjoyed walking and working in her yard and garden.
