Phyllis Ann Firlus

My deepest heartfelt sympathy to all of Phyllis’ family. I am fortunate to have known Tracy for a long time and knew her mom. Some memories I have. When Tracy & I were at UIS together she took me to Paducah where I met Phyllis and her grandmother. I’ll never forget Phyllis taking Tracy and I to the riverboat to go gambling! She loved to play the penny slots.  Years later when my husband and I were taking a Saturday drive in Oregon along the coast we were listening to ‘Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me’ and the host picked an audience member who introduced herself as Phyllis Firlus! I remember excitingly saying to my husband, “that is Tracy’s mom on the show!”.  She was also a very talented glass artist and she gifted my husband and I an amazing piece when we were living in Charlotte and I cherish it to this day. Rest in Peace, Phyllis.
