I’ll miss you forever. I’ll miss your big hugs. I’ll miss you asking ā€œwheres my hug at?ā€. I’ll miss seeing you wear your overalls. I’ll miss hearing ā€œhey kiddoā€ as soon as I walk through that front door. I’ll miss you blaming grandma when you passed gas. I’ll miss you looking so happy to see all of your great grandchildren. I’ll miss you telling me I am full of bologna. I’ll miss you calling me on my birthday every year. I’ll miss seeing you watch nascar on the tv. We’re all going to miss you so much grandpa. You were the best grandpa I could ever ask for. I know you’re in a better place not hurting but it hurts to know we can’t call or see you anymore. Now I’ll always see reminders of you,I love you forever.

So sorry to hear about Dave's passing. He was a great guy.

Dave was as nice as the day is long. He was a great partner to my sister and they are the kind of family you never need to worry about. He was my kind of car guy and we both owned a Karmann Ghia that was on its last legs for years and just wouldn’t quit. Dave forgot more about cars than I’ll ever know. But he never spent big bucks on his projects at the expense of any family needs. I love that. After that huge medical event that almost killed him, he fought back and survived it to see his family grow and got to enjoy life for many more years. Love you Dave. See you on the other side.

You showed me how to be a man, Pops. You showed me what that meant and what that looked like. I never got the chance to fully tell you what you meant to me. You loved me through all my mess, and when I finally had the chance to make you proud, it meant the world to me. It meant the world to hear you talk about how proud you were of me—those are some of my proudest moments in life. I’m so proud to call you my old man. I’ll always remember how you loved my wife and children, and how you would let me ramble on and on. Then, when I was done, you would quietly say exactly what I needed to hear. I wish I had one more chance to tell you how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I’ll spend the rest of my life making you proud. I hope you’re waiting for all of us with my dog, Lambeau, and my sister’s dog, Nico. We know how much you loved them, too. I just miss you. I guess I’ll be doing that for a while now, Pops. Until we meet again. —Your grandson, Zacharia David LeGrand
